About SAO Fire Innovations
SAO Fire Innovations is a pioneering fire suppression technology company formed in 2024 & headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya. We are developing a proprietary, first of its kind suppression solution intended for use in fire extinguishers and other fire extinguishing mechanisms. Our technology is being developed to do more than extinguish fire. It is designed around Total Loss Minimization: reducing the overall loss a fire causes and protecting what matters, including people, assets, equipment, government infrastructure, forensic evidence and other critical materials.
Conventional suppression is judged by how quickly a flame goes out. That single measure ignores what the response itself destroys: water and residue damage, contamination of sensitive equipment, ruined records and forensic evidence, aswell as weeks of lost operations. We are engineering a solution that treats those consequences as part of the problem to be solved.

Technology & Research
Our development programme is focused on a single first of its kind fire suppression solution: the agent, the way it is delivered, and its first application in fire extinguishers and other extinguishing mechanisms.
A first of its kind suppression formulation and delivery approach, engineered for rapid knockdown with the least possible damage to whatever is being protected.

Engineering principle
Our engineering brief starts with the asset: a live server rack, a forensic evidence store, a substation, a museum vault. The suppression strategy is then designed backwards from the tolerance of that asset agent behaviour, residue, thermal shock, electrical safety and recovery time all become design constraints, not afterthoughts.
Where we focus
Digital infrastructure cannot tolerate residue, thermal shock or downtime. Our suppression solution is being developed so that a fire in a live compute environment ends with hardware, data and uptime intact wherever possible.
Government buildings, public records, power, water, telecommunications and transport systems carry national consequence. Our technology is being developed to protect public assets and essential services where the loss caused by a fire, and by the response to it, cannot be absorbed.
Fire can destroy forensic evidence twice: first through burning, then through water, residue or contamination caused by the response. Our solution is being developed to help preserve documents, samples, digital devices and scene integrity so investigators, laboratories and courts have a stronger chance of recovering the evidence they need.
In conflict affected regions, a fire can erase identity records, forensic evidence, medical supplies, communications and essential public services when they are needed most. Total Loss Minimization is intended to reduce secondary damage and help protect the materials and infrastructure required for accountability, recovery and continuity.
A fire event is also a continuity and insurance event. By targeting less contamination, less collateral damage and faster reinstatement, our approach could help insurers and policyholders reduce claim severity, protect asset value and create a clearer path back to full operations.
